A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck San Francisco on Tuesday

Around 5.1-magnitude earthquake tremors in the area of the gulf

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The earthquake occurred around 11:42 a.m. about nine miles east of Seven Trees, a neighborhood of San Jose, Calif.

About 18,000 people in the Bay Area reported that they felt the earthquake.

It was the strongest earthquake in the Gulf region since a magnitude 6 earthquake in 2014

In California, about two or three Badeo earthquakes of magnitude 5.5 or greater occur each year, causing great damage to buildings and other structures.

Dr Jones said he had not heard of any damage to buildings or structures as of Tuesday afternoon

The quake struck Tuesday morning about nine miles from San Jose and Seven Trees, a neighborhood in California.
