Guard Matt Feeler carried rookie kicker Cameron Dicker on his shoulders in celebration.
A 37-yard field goal was converted by Dicker as the Chargers lifted for a 20–17 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
James said, "I cheered for him. That's what makes the NFL good. When your number is called, you have to make plays for the team."
Four days earlier, Dicker canceled his plans to attend his hometown Austin concert so he could fly to the airport for Los Angeles.
"It's been wild, it's been fun," Dicker said of his week.
The game-winning field goal for Dicker was his second this season.
On October 29, Dicker was cut by the Eagles in a series of roster moves.
He returned home for the first four days for what he described as an unexpected call from the Chargers.
