Duran Duran absent from the Rock Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony

Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor failed to attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony where the band was being honored

The English band said in a statement that the stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis was a setback.

Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor read a letter written to him by his bandmates, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Simon Le Bon

Parts of the letter were read to acknowledge his absence at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles.

The bandmates read the letter "Just four years ago Taylor was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer."

Many family members have experienced the slow burn of this cancer disease and of course we are no different.

Now his condition is not "immediately life-threatening.

But there is no cure for the disease and he was in for a shock.
