Now heat a large pot and cut the bacon into small pieces and cook till it becomes brown and crispy for 6-8 minutes.
Then put butter in the same vessel and cook garlic and onion well, after about 1 minute, add thyme and cook it.
Add some flour and beat it till it turns light brown, after that add milk, vegetable stock, clam juice and bay leaf gradually and cook for at least 1-2 minutes till it becomes slightly thickened.
After that put potatoes in it and cook it well then let it boil.
