PSG beat Ajaccio 3-0 in Ligue 1, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe star as PS

Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi combined in brilliant style to guide Paris Saint-Germain to a 3-0 win at AC Ajaccio in Ligue 1 on Friday.

Mbappe scored twice with an assist from Messi, the French star paying Messi the favor by setting up a goal of his own, as PSG eventually went out of the comfortable winners at the Stade François-Coti.

The win has cemented PSG's hold on the top spot in Ligue 1, giving them six points ahead of second-placed Lorient ahead of the rest of this weekend's matches.

The first 10 minutes were even, with Ajasio trying to try and catch the ball while the PSG forward waited for an opportunity to attack.

Ajaccio grabbed his first chance of the game when Maunaim El Idrissi missed a shot from a difficult angle in the fourth minute.

Ajaccio keeper Benjamin Leroy denied Messi when he saved a free-kick attempt in the 13th minute.

Mbappe asks to open his body and ends up in the far corner of the net first. Despite a lengthy check by the video assistant referee for a possible offside, the goal remained standing.

Mbappe should have doubled PSG's lead before half-time, but inexplicably missed the target at his mercy after Achraf Hakimi hit the ball in the penalty area.

Messi started the trick and he brilliantly combined with Mbappe to edge off the Azigio goalkeeper and end up in the empty net before getting the ball back.
